These Disclosures are provided to help consumers and licensed insurance agents understand the nature, scope, and limitations of the products and services offered through NexLife ("NexLife," "we," "us," or "our") and through the licensed insurance agents who use the NexLife platform ("Agents"). These Disclosures supplement, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, TCPA Consent, and SMS Consent.
1. NexLife Is a Software Platform, Not an Insurance Company
NexLife is a technology platform that provides software tools to licensed life insurance producers. NexLife is not an insurance company, an insurance producer, an insurance broker, an insurance agency, a managing general agent, a third-party administrator, a reinsurer, an underwriter, or a fiduciary. NexLife does not solicit insurance, quote premiums, accept premiums, bind coverage, issue policies, adjust claims, or maintain reserves. All insurance-related activities performed through use of the platform are performed by the licensed Agent who operates the account and by the issuing insurance carriers with whom that Agent maintains a producer appointment.
2. Licensing of Agents
Each Agent who uses the platform represents that they hold an active, unrestricted life insurance producer license in every U.S. state in which they solicit, negotiate, or sell insurance, and that they hold the carrier appointments required to do so. Consumers can verify an Agent's license at any time by contacting the state insurance regulator in their state of residence or by searching the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) at nipr.com using the Agent's National Producer Number ("NPN").
3. No Guarantee of Coverage, Approval, or Rate
Any quote, illustration, premium estimate, or eligibility indication generated through the platform is illustrative only and is not a binding offer of insurance. All underwriting decisions, including whether to issue coverage, the rate class assigned, the premium charged, the policy provisions and exclusions, and any postponement, decline, or rescission, are made by the issuing insurance carrier in its sole discretion and in accordance with its own underwriting guidelines, applicable law, and the information you have provided. NexLife has no authority to override, modify, or guarantee any underwriting determination.
4. Carrier Compensation
Agents who use the platform are typically compensated by the issuing insurance carriers in the form of commissions, bonuses, and other producer compensation. This compensation may vary by carrier, product type, premium amount, and policy duration, and may create an incentive to recommend one product over another. Carrier-paid compensation does not change the premium you pay for a policy. You may ask the Agent for a description of the compensation arrangement applicable to the product being recommended. NexLife receives subscription fees from Agents for use of the platform and does not receive commissions from carriers in connection with the issuance of any individual policy.
5. Material Conflicts of Interest
Because compensation varies by carrier and product, an Agent's recommendation may be influenced by factors other than your specific needs. You have the right to (a) request a written summary of the Agent's compensation arrangement for any product recommended, (b) request comparable quotes from other carriers and Agents, and (c) consult an independent licensed advisor before purchasing coverage.
6. Truthful Application Information
All information submitted as part of an insurance application must be truthful, accurate, and complete to the best of your knowledge. Material misrepresentation or omission on an insurance application, including misrepresentation of tobacco or nicotine use, medical history, prescription history, height and weight, occupation, hazardous activities, or financial information, may result in denial of coverage, increased premiums, rescission of an issued policy (which voids the policy from inception), denial of a claim (including a death-benefit claim), and civil or criminal liability under applicable insurance fraud statutes.
7. State Availability & Product Variation
Products and services may not be available in all U.S. states or U.S. territories. Coverage, policy terms, premiums, riders, and exclusions vary by state and by carrier. Some products may be subject to state-specific approval, suitability review, or replacement-of-coverage disclosures. The information presented on the NexLife website and within the Agent dashboard is provided for general informational purposes and is not state-specific advice.
8. Not Legal, Tax, Financial, or Medical Advice
Content presented on the NexLife website and within the platform, including articles, calculators, product comparisons, and illustrations, is provided for general educational purposes only and does not constitute legal, tax, accounting, financial-planning, investment, or medical advice. Insurance products may have significant tax, estate, and financial implications. You should consult a licensed attorney, certified public accountant, certified financial planner, or qualified medical professional regarding your specific situation before making any decision.
9. Replacement of Coverage
Replacing an existing life insurance policy with a new policy is a significant decision that may have adverse consequences, including loss of conversion or guaranteed-insurability options, application of new contestability and suicide-exclusion periods, surrender charges on the existing policy, tax consequences, and changes in cost-of-insurance charges. Do not cancel or lapse an existing policy until a replacement policy has been issued, delivered, and accepted. Many states require completion of a replacement disclosure form before a new policy is issued; your Agent will provide that form if applicable.
10. Free-Look Period
Life insurance policies issued in the United States are generally subject to a state-mandated "free-look" period during which you may return the policy for a full refund of premiums paid. The length of the free-look period varies by state and product, typically between ten (10) and thirty (30) days from the date the policy is delivered. The exact period, refund mechanics, and return instructions will be specified in the policy you receive.
11. Illustrations Are Not Guarantees
For products with non-guaranteed elements, including but not limited to indexed universal life, variable universal life, participating whole life, and other interest-sensitive products, any projected values, crediting rates, dividend scales, or cash-value accumulations shown in an illustration are based on current assumptions that are not guaranteed and may change. Actual results will differ, sometimes materially. Review the carrier's policy illustration and any required consumer-disclosure forms carefully before purchasing.
12. Third-Party Underwriting Sources
Insurance carriers may obtain information about you from third-party underwriting sources, including the Medical Information Bureau (MIB), prescription-history databases (such as ScriptCheck and Milliman IntelliScript), motor-vehicle reports, the Social Security Administration, consumer-reporting agencies regulated under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and electronic health records, as part of underwriting. You have rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and applicable state laws with respect to those reports, including the right to be informed of any adverse action taken on the basis of a report and the right to a free copy of the report.
13. Privacy & Data Protection
NexLife's collection, use, retention, and disclosure of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy. Sensitive Client identifiers (Social Security Number, banking details, prescription and medical history) are processed under a zero-storage relay model: they are transmitted to the destination carrier and then purged from NexLife's operational stores. See the Privacy Policy for details.
14. Anti-Fraud Notice
Any person who knowingly and with intent to defraud any insurance company or other person files an application for insurance or statement of claim containing any materially false information, or conceals for the purpose of misleading any information concerning any fact material thereto, commits a fraudulent insurance act, which is a crime, and may be subject to civil penalties and denial of insurance benefits. Specific state-mandated fraud-warning language will appear on the carrier's application form where required.
15. Trademarks
"NexLife," the NexLife logo, and related marks are trademarks of NexLife. Carrier names and logos shown on the platform are the property of their respective owners and are used solely for identification purposes. Display of a carrier name or logo does not imply endorsement by, or affiliation with, that carrier beyond the producer relationship maintained by the individual Agent.
16. How to File a Complaint
If you have a complaint about an Agent, a carrier, or the handling of an insurance application or claim, you may contact the state insurance regulator in your state of residence. You may also email compliance@nexlifecrm.org to file a complaint about the NexLife platform; we will acknowledge receipt within five (5) business days and respond substantively within thirty (30) days, subject to applicable law.
17. Updates to These Disclosures
We may update these Disclosures from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated by reasonable means and will take effect on the date noted.
